2026
Asia Design Prize

As brand design continues to evolve beyond visual expression into the realm of strategic system building, Design Astrein has once again achieved international recognition on the global design stage.

Design Astrein announced on March 23 that it won two Winner awards at the Asia Design Prize 2026 for its rebranding projects, SHIROA and JINCOSTECH.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Asia Design Prize 2026 is one of Asia’s leading international design awards. This year, a total of 1,515 entries from 31 countries were evaluated by a panel of 39 international judges. The awards ceremony was held at Josun Palace Gangnam in Seoul last March.

The achievement is particularly meaningful as it demonstrates the continued international recognition of Design Astrein’s strategic expertise in brand design. Since its first submission in 2023, the company has accumulated six awards from the competition, maintaining a three-year consecutive winning streak.

Among the winning projects, SHIROA is a postpartum care center rebranding project that redefines the essence of rest and recovery through design. Expanding upon the existing “SHIM” brand, the project established a new global-ready name and identity system. Its symbol combines a comma and the silhouette of a baby, representing both the beginning of life and the rhythm of recovery. A flexible identity system was developed to adapt to various emotional and situational contexts, creating a unified brand experience that connects mothers and infants through a shared journey of care and healing.

The JINCOSTECH rebranding project reimagined the identity of a hydrogel cosmetics manufacturer. Inspired by the company’s factory architecture, the logotype was developed using a custom “Factory Type Font” that reflects industrial rhythm and precision. A modular flexible identity system was introduced to ensure scalability across various applications. In addition, visual strategies centered on hydrogel formulations and formula-inspired patterns highlighted the company’s manufacturing expertise, departing from conventional cosmetic advertising approaches.

In recent years, the Brand Design category of the Asia Design Prize has increasingly recognized projects that integrate brand philosophy, user experience, and industrial systems into cohesive design solutions. Design Astrein’s award-winning projects were similarly acknowledged for extending design beyond aesthetics into strategic and operational brand systems.

Including this achievement, Design Astrein has received more than 38 awards and honors from major domestic and international design competitions, including the iF Design Award, Good Design Award, and PINUP Design Awards.

“Brand design is not about creating forms; it is about designing the way a brand builds relationships with the market,” said Kang Do-eun, CEO of Design Astrein. “We will continue to develop designs that function meaningfully within industries and markets, helping brands articulate and strengthen their essential value.”
